The Church of Our Lady of Smolensk is located in Smolensk Cemetery on Vasilievsky Island, not too far from the spot we see when Wade is driving Bond to meet Zhukovsky. Vasilievsky Island is between the two branches of the river.

I couldn't find a modern photograph of the church, but it probably looks like what we see in the movie, only the shot is made from within the wall of the cemetery. I found a mention of a magnificent stained glass window depicting Virgin Mary, which probably served as the source of inspiration for the stained glass windows seen in the movie.

However, what we see inside is not Our Lady of Smolensk - or any other orthodox church, for that matter. There are no pews in Orthodox churches, except for maybe a few for those who can't stand at a mass any longer.

Interesting that the church was built with the help of the Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg who was buried at the church's Cemetery. How apropriate... I wonder if those who came up with Ms. Onatopp's first name knew about it.
